Summer Camps at ICCS
AN INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY: ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
For rising 7th-12th grade students - open to the public
Learn the classic wa to take and print photographs, using a 35mm camera and phot developing materials in a campus "darkroom." Mr. Tommy Wilson, a free-lance Memphis photographer affiliated with the National Geographic Magazine, will teach this class. Students can earn .5 OR 1.0 Fine Arts credit and a transcript will be sent to your chosen high school upon completion.
Students should bring their own 35mm camera (must have a removable lens and be in operable condition, but apart from those conditions just about any 35mm camera will work). Students will also need to provide 6 rolls Arista PREMIUM or Kodak Tri-X/T Max film and a plastic processing spool and tank (Patterson or Arista preferred). These can be purchased from Memphis Photo or as part of a kit from Freestyle Photo (http://www.freestylephoto.biz).

CAMP INVENTION
For rising 1st-5th grade students - open to the public
The Camp Invention program is a non-profit science enrichment experience that develops creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through hands-on exploration and fun.

FRESHMEN WORKSHOP
REQUIRED for incoming freshmen registered at IC
As a new student to the high school, you’ll have a lot to get used to. We want to help you make the best possible adjustment, both socially and academically. To make sure your academic year gets off to the best possible start, we require that all incoming freshmen attend our summer workshop for Math and English skills. Our teachers will work with you on refreshing your writing and grammar skills, and brushing up on math facts and readiness for Algebra. You’ll get 30 hours of readiness work in two subject areas.

FUN IN THE SUN DAY CAMP
For rising JK4-8th grade students – open to the public
Catholic Charities, who also runs our extended care program during the school year, is hosting this summer long camp. Fun in the Sun provides age appropriate activities and special events that will enrich your child’s summer experience. Campers are divided appropriately by age and rotated through various activities daily. There will be an informational meeting about this camp on April 16th.

JR. WILDCATS BASKETBALL CAMP
For rising 2nd-6th grade boys and girls - open to the public
This skills-based camp is great for any basketball player at any level. Campers will challenge and hone their skills through organized drills, games and competition. Campers are encouraged to bring their own basketball and water bottle. All other equipment will be furnished. A snack and drink will be provided during break-time. A camp T-shirt is included for registrations received by June 20th.

JR. WILDCATS VOLLEYBALL CAMP
For rising 5th-8th grade girls - open to the public
Camp instructor, Sarah Jett, is IC's JV and Varsity Volleyball Coach, and a coach for Memphis Metro Volleyball (http://www.memphisvolleyball.com).
This four-day, skills-based camp is great for any volleyball-lover whether they are a beginner or an experienced player! Campers will challenge their skills through drills, games and conditioning. Campers must provide their own equipment: knee pads, water bottles, and a snack for break-time.

MUSIC APPRECIATION ENRICHMENT CLASS
For rising 7th-12th grade students - open to the public
Memphis bluegrass historian and musician, Andy Cohen, will conduct a two-week session on the history of the truly American music styles including: bluegrass, gospel and jazz. Students will earn 1/2 (.5) Fine Ars credit and a transcript will be sent to your chosen high school upon completion of the two-week session.

Math Enrichment Camp prepares middle school students for the upcoming school year. This class will ensure that students are ready to enter the appropriate math class in the fall whether it is Basic Math, Pre-Algebra or Algebra I. Review skills such as rounding, decimals, fractions, order of operations, ratios, proportions, percents, integers, solve equations, like terms, polynomials, binomials, exponents and radicals.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
For rising 5K-6th grade students - open to the public
At Vacation Bible School, children will learn how their lives can be transformed by God's great love for them. Through music, stories, crafts and many activities, campers will explore who they are in Jesus Christ - the most important relationship of all! Just like the apostle Peter, kids will discover that because of Jesus' love for us, He is the rock upon we can build our lives. Send your kids to Vacation Bible School this summer for an adventure they'll never forget!
